Charleston, WV—You will be part of our family on Saturday, June 18th at 7:30 pm in the Culture Center Theater in the WV State Capitol Complex  when the Kanawha Kordsmen will present their 42st annual show and 7th  in conjunction with FestivALL.  Tickets are $12.00 and available by going to  and clicking on the Kordsmen Shop icon or by calling 304-346-SING(7464)  Special pricing is available for groups of 10 or more are available for $10.00 each.  All students and under are admitted free.  If you wait until the last minute, ticket prices go up to $15.00 at the door.

The Kanawha Kordsmen are members of the Greater Kanawha Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS).

Boardwalk_croppedThe show this year features our good friends Boardwalk.  This quartet promises entertaining fun, good singing and a large repertoire from the Great American Songbook.  To spice it up, unlike other quartets, they mix in a little, banjo, guitar, ukulele & string bass.

Bob was cited for his long standing commitment to the Kanawha Kordsmen as a singer, officer and comittee member and supporter of the chapter show. Further Bob was recognized for his unfailing good humor when participating in chapter activities. In all of these areas Bob exemplifies the qualities of Frank Shumaker for whom the award is named.

Come out for a Great Cause

Award winning Nitro H.S. Show Choir and Kanawha Kordsmen offer Chili and a Show

Charleston, WV—Come celebrate the holidays with Nitro High School Show Cats and the Kanawha Kordsmen in concert on December 15, 2015.   The Kordsmen are helping the Show Cats raise money for their choir robes by offering fun, food and MUSIC!  The chili fest includes chili (duh,) drinks & dessert starting at 5:30 pm and the show starts at 7:00 pm at Nitro High School. The $8.00 ticket covers the chili & a show.  All proceeds go to the Nitro High School Show Cats (show choir).  For more information call: (304)348-SING.

Kordsmen to perform for Community Music Association’s Goodnight Celebration

The Kanawha Kordsmen Barbershop Chorus has been singing music in the barbershop style since 1948. The Chorus is a local chapter of Barbershop Harmony Society, which has more than 30,000 members worldwide.

The Kordsmen have about 40 members, men from all walks of life: doctors, lawyers, students, salesmen, plant workers, teachers, computer professionals, policemen, engineers, government workers, architects, businessmen, priests and ministers, all who love to sing.

The chorus contributes many hours annually to entertain community groups of all kinds in the greater Kanawha Valley. We perform at celebrations all over town – birthdays, weddings,anniversaries, company functions, retirements and more. The Kordsmen and their quartets purvey the famous Singing Valentines in February, as well as their annual show in June in conjunction with FestivALL and Good Night on December 31st in conjunction with the Community Music Association.

This year’s Good Night perforrmance will feature Chapter quartets as well as a wide repertoire’ performing hits from Michael Buble, Jason Miraz, Elton John, the Beatles and some Billy Joel with a few good old gospel and traditional barbershop style harmony numbers sprinkled in.  Any persons interested in singing with the Kanawha Kordsmen or engaging the Chorus or a quartet for a performance may call 346-SING(7464) for more information.
