Charleston, WV— On February 28th, the Kanawha Kordsmen held their annual Officer Installation and Awards Banquet.  President Bert Gross proudly presented the 2014 Frank G. Shumaker Barbershopper of the Year Award to Elmer Miller. This award is given to a gentleman of good character that goes above and beyond in support the Kordsmen.  Elmer received his 50 year membership pin 2 years ago and has been an active member of the Kordsmen and Barbershop Harmony Society since 1963.  Elmer exemplifies what being a Kordsmen is all about and has been a key man in the Chapter during that time quite literally as he has blown the pitch pipe to get the chorus started in their performances.

The Kanawha Kordsmen, the Greater Kanawha Valley Chapter of BHS, is active in the local entertainment scene, offering performances throughout the year.   Next up is the annual show on June 20th at the WV Culture Center Auditorium as part of FestivALL and WV Birthday Celebration.ElmerMiller
